Joan Villarroya i Font (Badalona, Barcelona, 1953) is a historian who specialises in military history, the Spanish Civil War and Francoism. He has a PhD in History from the Universitat de Barcelona, where he is Professor of Contemporary History. He is the author of numerous publications, the first of which, based on his undergraduate thesis, was Els bombardeigs de Barcelona durant la Guerra Civil.
