The dataset Las prisiones militares de Montjuich: Fichas, expedientes de reclusos y otra documentación (1939-1975) (4.1.5) [The military prison of Montjuich: Personal record cards, personal files and other documents] contains 3.475 records. It is taken from the publication Las prisiones militares de Montjuich: Fichas, expedientes de reclusos y otra documentación (1939-1975). Índice 23 . It consists of a text and an alphabetical list in PDF format with the names of those soldiers who were held in the military prisons of Montjuich, Barcelona, mainly between 1939 and 1958. The detained, both soldiers and officers, were members of all three branches of the Republican armed forces as well as the three police forces (Policía Armada, Guardia Civil and Carabineros). However, the majority had been members of the army. Of those listed, 3,321 are personal record cards and only 154 are individual personal files. These documents have been preserved and may be consulted at Archivo General Militar de Guadalajara (AGMG) , from where copies of specific records may be requested by email from agm_guadalajara@et.mde.es or by post from the following address: Avenida del Ejército, nº 2 -19004, Guadalajara. The records in the database indicate the location of each file. This information has been made available to the public via the website of the Ministerio de Defensa following the description and transfer of the documentation from the Archivo Intermedio of the Región Militar Pirenaica (Barcelona) and was the work of F.
