Description

The dataset Milicianas con pena de muerte conmutada, containing 79 personal files, is taken from the appendix of the doctoral thesis Republicanas condenadas a muerte: analogías y diferencias territoriales y de género (1936-1945) by Francisca Moya Alcañiz, who was supervised by Ángeles Egido. Her research compared the repression suffered by women in different parts of Spain, examining the diverse types of feminine militancy and the role of women as defenders of the democratic values of the Republic. In addition to the archives, the author has used a broad range of other sources which are listed in the bibliography on pages 421-432 of the thesis.
